The faculty and students in the Health & Wellness program are engaged in a variety of funded research projects that address current issues of healthcare design. Many of the research efforts are collaborations between the Institute of Health & Wellness Design and our Affiliate Firms, which builds on the strength of our long-standing internship program. Our research is published in peer-reviewed venues and presented at national and international conferences to disseminate new knowledge in the healthcare design field.

Research Projects

The projects use evidence-based design research techniques to explore topics such as decentralized nursing stations in inpatient units, critical access hospitals, patient-centered medical home systems, and healthy community design processes.
