THE INTERNSHIP EXPERIENCE

The internship component of the program provides a unique opportunity to experience what it is like to work on a real project in one of the leading healthcare architecture firms in the U.S. The seven-month paid internship offers students a variety of practice settings, and we have placed students in each of the cities represented by the map.

Upon completion of the internship program, students return to the Lawrence campus for their final "capstone" design studio.

The videos discuss what the internship experience from two points of view. In the first, Health + Wellness program participants Kristen Harrelson and Kate Rennert discuss the ways in which the internship program experience helped prepare them for their careers.

In the second, architect Rick Embers of Pulse Design Group, Lenexa Kansas, describes what it has been like to have Health + Wellness program students working in his firm.
